Hello fellow book nerds! We are ONE day away from The Wicked King, and I cannot wait to go home and find it on my doorstep (at least it better be there!). Back in October, The Lost Sisters was published as a companion novel to The Folk of the Air series. This was a great in between novel because it covers the major events from the first book but it also gives us Taryn’s viewpoints.
Did you read this? Did it change your thoughts about Taryn?

While Jude fought for power in the Court of Elfhame against the cruel Prince Cardan, her sister Taryn began to fall in love with the trickster, Locke.
Half-apology and half-explanation, it turns out that Taryn has some secrets of her own to reveal.
I really enjoyed this story. Since I didn’t read The Cruel Prince too long ago the events are fresh in my mind but this was a great in between novel to refresh the events that occurred in the first novel. One of the aspects I really enjoyed about this book was it was from Taryn’s point of view. The reason I like this so much is because we get to see the events from a different perspective. There are two sides to every story right? Even though this didn’t make me like Taryn more, it did make me respect her character. Jude had her own way of dealing with the fair folk, while Taryn attempted a different approach. Did I like her approach to the situations? No, not necessarily – but who is to say what I would do if that were me. This story goes through all the major events from The Cruel Prince as Taryn explains why she did what she did. The ending was probably my favorite part because it makes me see Taryn a little differently. I highly recommend this story for those who want to continue to The Wicked King.
