The Mid-Year Book Freak Out Tag

Hello fellow book nerds!

I’ve seen this tag going around and figured it was the perfect time to do it. I stole it from Alana at The Bookish Chick so make sure you go check out her answers here.

Happy Reading!

Best Book You’ve So Far Read in 2019

So this is such a hard question because I’ve already read over 150 books and so many of them were amazing. But honestly, I have been obsessing over Kate L. Mary though and it all started with Twisted World. I HIGHLY recommend starting off with Broken World though and then continuing the series. I honestly love it so much and I am so excited I discovered this.

Best Sequel You’ve So Far Read in 2019

This Cruel Design (This Mortal Coil, #2)

I have a problem with reading series. I can’t help it – I love them. So choosing the best sequel is really hard for me, especially because I typically end up liking the second book more. But I have to go with This Cruel Design because I have never, EVER, had a sequel make me more angry than this book. Angry because I don’t have the next one in my hands right now. Seriously, I had to wait a full week before rating it then two weeks before even writing my review.

New Release You Haven’t Read Yet, But Want To

Wicked Saints (Something Dark and Holy, #1)

I ended up pre-ordering the audio for this book and I really want to listen to it but still have yet to actually pick it up. I’m hoping to do that really soon.

Most Anticipated Release of the Second Half of 2019

The Starless Sea

I have been waiting forever for another Erin Morgenstern novel and when I heard about her new book – I may have freaked out. November is still so far away and I honestly cannot wait for this book. It is definitely my most anticipated release.

Biggest Disappointment

Windwitch (The Witchlands, #2)

There are so many people who love this series and I really, really, really want to also… but I just couldn’t. I liked the first book even though I issues with it but as I continued, I could not get into this book. I ended up getting 33% through before I finally decided to DNF.

Biggest Surprise

The F Word (Redefining Me book 1)

I was absolutely blown away by this book. I really wasn’t expecting much from it but I love both the authors so I figured I’d give it a chance. It ended up making me write the longest review ever because I just had so much to say about it. This truly was so amazing and I finished it in one day because I couldn’t stop reading it.

Favorite Crush

I actually had a hard time with this one because I don’t really “crush” on characters… but I really liked Nik’s character from Gemina.

Favorite Character

Hi- I’m trash for Circe. That is all.

Book That Made You Cry

Clockwork Princess (The Infernal Devices, #3)

Sue me – the epilogue makes me cry every single time. No matter how many rereads I do of the book.

Book That Made You Happy

The Blood Spell

There was so much that I loved about this book. The whole Ravenspire series is amazing but this book in particular made me so happy. It just held so much goodness.

Favorite Blog Post of Mine

These posts I put a lot of work into and still my favorites of the year so far.

Most Beautiful Book You’ve Bought this Year

Smoke & Summons (Numina Trilogy, #1)

Gosh I still love this cover SO MUCH. It is just so pretty and it’s honestly even better in person.

What book do you need to read by the end of the year?

Vengeful (Villains, #2)

Honestly, too many – but I really want to make sure I read this before the end of the year. I’m mad I’ve waited this long already.
