Hello fellow book nerds!
Yes, I have an addiction to books but I admit it. That’s half the battle right? Well I’m sure this tag will prove it even more. But let’s just see how addicted I actually am.
From what I have seen the tag originated with Always Trust In Books. But if not check it out anyways 🙂
What is the longest amount of time you can comfortably go without picking up a book?
A day… and I wouldn’t say it’s comfortable either. Even when I’m doing chores I listen to an audiobook. When I’m in the car, audio. When I’m in the line at the grocery store, I’ll pull out my ebook. But sometimes things do happen so I could go a day without reading.
How many books do you carry on your person (or kindle) at any one time?
Well I always have my phone on me. And on my phone I’ll always have one digital and one audio. My work bag has one physical book in it. So I guess I typically carry 3 books on me.
Do you keep every book you buy/receive or are you happy to pass them on to make space for more?
I typically keep every book I own. But I am more than happy to pass them on. I have a couple of friends where we trade books regularly and I’ve passed a couple off to my nephew. There are a couple I’ll never part with but I’ve never had an issue passing books along.
How long would you spend in a bookshop on a standard visit?
Luckily I don’t visit book stores too often because of the temptation. But I could easily spend 1-2 hours in a book store.
How much time per day do you actually spend reading?
Thankfully I have audiobooks so it makes it easier for me to read. Average though I spend 8-10 hours reading.
Where does the task ‘picking up a book’ appear on your daily to-do list?
As of right now during the day because I can listen to my book while I work. However, my new job isn’t going to give me that luxury so it’ll end up being later in the day. After I do my chores that way I can enjoy reading undisturbed.
How many books do you reckon you own in total (including e-books)?
I honestly don’t even know nor do I want to spend the time counting.
Approximately how often do you bring up books in conversation?
Hahahahahaha – all the time.
What is the biggest book (page count) you have finished reading?
Words of Radiance by Brandon Sanderson at 1,087 pages.
Is there a book you had to get your hands on against all odds i.e searching bookshops, online digging etc?
I actually haven’t done anything like that. Luckily I live in the US so books getting to me is pretty easy to do. I’ve never had to go searching.
A book you struggled to finish but refused to DNF?
A Court of Mist and Fury. It is loved by so many people and I was hoping I’d get there. The book was so long and I struggled every minute but I refused to give it up. Unfortunately….
What are 3 of your main book goals for 2019?
- Keep up on blogging every day
- Read 250 books!
- Read 1 Shakespeare work
Have you ever had the privilege of converting someone into a reader (maybe via inspiration or incessant nagging)?
My friend was a reader but she barely has any time to read because she’s so buy. She kept hearing me go on and on about audiobooks and now she’s really into them and gets so many books in! I love it so much.
Describe what books mean to you in five words.
They are my personal escape.
